Joseph Pearson of the Philosophy department has decided to start a guitar club that is nonprofit, free to join, and open to all Parkside students. Up to twenty-five percent of the organization can consist of non- students, so this organization is open to the general public as well. According to Joseph Pearson, the club is brand new and, ". . .the first semester will probably be something of a trial period to work out the many details of such a club.
Parkside's MBA program does more than just study business from a distance, as current student Armin Mehic demonstrated on January 18th.
Mehic, originally from Europe, was visiting there when he met leaders of the British energy brokerage and consultancy Alfa Energy, which was interested in investigating whether to expand into the United States. Alfa Energy, founded in 1995, operates by contracting energy rates for their clients, in order to get lower prices when the market goes up.
Sporting white sneakers on the sideline of another dissapointing let-down, Parkside's Luke Reigel epitomized a head coach about ready to step on the court himself.
On a Saturday afternoon where collegiate coaches around the country were encouraged to support health and fitness, Parkside's inconsistency translated into a frustrating defeat, 75-66.

It was a major showdown this past Saturday afternoon on Alumni Day at DeSimone Gymnasium, as the UW-Parkside Rangers faced the second ranked team in Division II, the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds. The Greyhounds entered with an undefeated 20-0 record, as well as a spotless 11-0 record in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. However, the Women’s Basketball team had a spotless record of their own, as they entered undefeated at home. The Rangers had posted sixteen straight home wins, which dated all the back to last year. The game was sadly never in doubt for Indianapolis, as they cruised on to a 72-59 win over the Rangers.
Wednesday night, people flooded in to see Patrick Combs in his show “Man:1, Bank: 0,” brought to Parkside by the program Arts Alive. Said to be a “fun and great speaker” by a man heading back inside after intermission, the night seemed to be quite a hit. Combs is known for depositing a 95,000 dollar junk mail check that his bank took! So now he tells the story of taking on not only his local bank, but the Feds as well.

27 points from senior guard Amanda Gibson fueled a second half surge that propelled Parkside past Southern Indiana 61-51.
Featuring a clash of two Great Lakes Valley Conference front-runners, UW-Parkside (10-2) (18-3) hosted the University of Southern Indiana (6-3) (15-5) at DeSimone Gymnasium in Kenosha, WI.
Matching last season's win total (18), the Rangers have won eight of their last nine, and now possess a perfect 11-0 record at home.

The UW-Parkside Rangers Men’s Basketball team (8-12) faced the undefeated University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles (17-0) at DeSimmone Gymnasium Thursday night, and it didn’t take long for the undefeated Eagles to hand another GLVC loss to the Rangers.
The Rangers started the game with four freshmen against a lineup of five upper classmen for an undefeated team. The Rangers would inevitably get the first basket of the game, but that was the only time they led in the entire game.
