After Thanksgiving Now Astronauts Celebrate Christmas in Space

Astronauts on the International Space Station have everything they should rejoice the vacations following a Saturday supply full with Christmas goodies. A SpaceX Dragon capsule, launched days earlier from Florida, delivered smoked turkey, green bean casserole, candied yams, cranberry sauce, and fruitcake to the laboratory within the sky. There are also shortbread and butter cookies and tubes of icing for adorning. The full preparations are made so that even though being in space they can enjoy the auspicious day of Christmas and don’t feel deprived for not being near to their families. There have been efforts to make them feel “at home” even in the space.

Commander Alexander Gerst used the space station’s giant robotic arm to seize the cargo provider because the two craft went 250 miles above the Pacific on Saturday. It took two trials to get the Dragon shut sufficient for grab. The rendezvous was delayed roughly 90 minutes due to hassle with the communication community that serves the house station.

The space station has housed astronauts each Christmas since 2000; crewmembers are afforded a day off to rejoice the vacation annually. Three of the area station’s present residents might be on board for Christmas; the opposite three will return to Earth on Dec. 20. Till then, the station is dwelling to two People, two Russians, one Canadian and Gerst, who’s German.

Along with the vacation feast and more significant than 5,000 kilos of different station tools, the Dragon delivered 40 mice and 36,000 worms for getting older and muscle research.
